Trey, you’re a goldmine! I guess you won’t be seeing BB in Seattle tonight, or whatever day it is, what with your being 17 hours away and all. Do good bands come through there?
I wish, my dear. Actually, Seattle’s only about 4 and a half hours. I was just there last weekend for Sir Paul. Amazing show. He played for 2 and a half hours. While the band took breaks, he stayed on stage. I guess the fountain of youth lies in 70,000 screaming fans…and billions of dollars.
By the way, checked the link on your blog, cherry guitar girl. I bet it plays like sugerplums. I just bought a new Takamine acoustic/electric, but am wishing now I would have replaced my old electric instead. A neighbor let me borrow her old solid body Gretsch for the summer but had to give it back when I left for Australia. It was tough to let it go. Almost played itself. I do have a beat up Supro amp, though.
That is one good looking amp! I have an acoustic as well, but it’s really hard for me to play, it’s so big. I’ll stick with the electric, which doesn’t sound like sugarplums when I play it! I suck, to be honest, so any version of anything by me would be the equivalent of Meg White singing.
C’mon, Meg’s hot. Doesn’t matter if she can’t sing. As far as good bands coming through here, every once in a while. It makes more sense for bands to go from Seattle straight down to Portland. I check out Pollstar.com to see who’s coming to town and they’ll be 7 pages for Seattle and one for Spokane. The local music scene is getting better. We’re moving toward a “local music scene” and away from cover bands called OK Fine and Kidd Sister to bands like Seaweed Jack and Five Foot Thick.
(Using my best radio voice) “Here’s one from local veterans, THE MAKERS”
My work computer sucks and won’t let me play that; have to try at home. Denver gets better for shows all the time; thank god. I need something to do around here.
nope. my home computer has better magic tricks than this one, so maybe there. Have you heard of Girls in Hawaii? If I were technologically savvy I’d send you a clip but I’m not so look them up. They’re from Belgium, where they grow the best rock stars ever.
So we got a little bad mojo going on with our link to the Makers “Supergirl” song so I’ve retreated into the lab, tightened some neck bolts and mixed up a new elixir. Now take your medicine like a good monster!
Sorry, d changed the settings to moderate comments. As far as a side gig, I wish I rocked that hard. Those guys walk the rock and rock the ROCK!!! really. What’d you think of the Makers, BTW? Thanks for the kiss by proxy, though a handshake would have sufficed. Good show in SF, eh? Got to meet him too? You are soooo the cat’s PJs. I got his autograph when he played here couple of years ago (I’m not an autograph guy, but it was BB, so c’mon). Did he play any new songs?
Good lord, I thought you had determined I was a stalker or something – you had to monitor my posts.
i did like the Makers – that’s what I was asking if it was your side gig.
As for BB, I’ve, uh, met him before. He’s a pretty friendly sort. He didn’t play any new songs, but I guess when he gets home he’ll start right on in recording his new stuff. They were really great, though – the last couple of times I’ve seen them they lacked energy, but they rocked this time. And I met the fabled Emma. A very nice girl.
So how’d you come to meet BB? Give me the skinny, girl. I did don the eyepatch and with a parrot on my shoulder, downloaded some Girls In Hawaii (I try to buy something everytime I do to balance my internet karma, so I’m about 5 cds behind. If the government catches you, can you ask for parlay?) Quite refreshing, the Girls are. There’s a mellowness that reminds of the Shins. I’m liking the songs Flavor and Casper more and more.
I’m glad you like it! My favorites are Fontanelle, Organeum, and Short Song for a Short Mind. I’ve found the accent has grown on me and now when I sing along I use the accent, too. Sometimes I have to because I don’t know what the actual words are so I’m just singing french-accented nonsense.
As for BB, well, I’d just as soon stick to email for that conversation.
I guess you’re just not as wordy as I am, since not only do you only post once a week, but it also seems to take you 2 days to return email! What must it be like to actually be busy in life? Hmm.

Looking forward to hear kate lilac’s version of Cherries.

Looking For A Supergirl

Weird. I tried it too and it opens as a text file. Try saving it to your desktop and then delete the .txt extension on the end of the file name.

Looking For A Supergirl that doesn’t download as a text file
THANX D!
Not bad at’all – is this your side gig? Tell the truth.
I posted, where did it go? Whatever; it was boring and said something about it secretly being your band. I will kiss Brendan for you tomorrow.
You should have gone to Seattle… fun show! I impressed BB with my knowledge of his rarer songs, learned from you of course.
