Back when Living With the Living came out I had an idea for a set of posters inspired by the song Bomb.Repeat.Bomb. I wanted to have stamps made for “Bomb” and “Repeat” and then hand stamp the designs for the poster masters. Then each poster would have “Ted Leo and the Pharmacists” hand stamped to make each one unique. I envisioned what a military order would look like when the order to attack was given and came up with the aggressive and repetitive idea of the order being stamped numerous times across the paper.

These are rough comps I stumbled across recently and I still love the concept. Now that the album has come and gone, it’s time to dream up some brand new ideas for Mr. Leo. I’d love to be able to work on some art for him!

Wow. I simply cannot wait to see this. I know very little about it and I prefer to keep it that way. The trailer alone has me anticipating this film which looks like a worthy addition to an already stunning collection of sci-fi movies including Blade Runner, 2001, Alien and more. The most intriguing thing is how it supposedly uses no CGI but rather achieves many of it’s effects in-camera. The idea of watching Sam Rockwell perform a nearly one-man show in a sci-fi setting has got me pumped. After seeing Choke I am convinced of this man’s undeniable talent.

The poster is also very cool in a retro kind of way but mainly for it’s simplicity and portrayal of this lone man on the moon. The score, which you’ll hear snippets of in the trailer, is from Clint Mansell, who I regret I’m not terribly familiar with but he has scored some great films. I will be investigating his work further…

I’ve enjoyed taking pictures with it when I’m out and about. But I never felt very comfortable taking a self portrait. There’s no way to really know you’re finger is on the button, plus since it’s at the bottom it makes the phone “top-heavy” while you’re trying to line up your shot. So I tried something today and it worked great. Turn your phone upside down, it makes for a more confident grip on the device and you’re still able to line up the shutter to yourself easily. Then, use your finger to locate the “home” button and leave it there until you’re ready to take the pic. Then, when you’re ready, just slide your finger downward and you’ll trigger the button to take the picture. That’s it! I’m sure I’m not the first person to do this, but I just had to share this recent discovery!

P.S. Don’t worry, your photos won’t be upside down using this method.

P.S.S. Yeah I obviously did some Photoshop stuff to these pics but they were taken on the iPhone so there…

This ad will be running in the next issue of Sound Magazine. This was a last minute request to create and it was started at 10pm and finished at 2:30 the morning it was due. Phew, we’re glad it turned out so awesome! Special thanks to Chris, Mike and Ashley for the continued opportunity to do what we love for a worthy cause!

The concept basically started out as a goof on the term “space-suit” and how fun it would be to see an astronaut in a jacket and tie. Once I got the sketch done and started playing around with it the idea became a little more profound given the cause it’s for. The idea grew into this guy delivering the fundraising proceeds in his briefcase to Mars (hence the red/yellow glow from entering the atmosphere). Of course nobody wants the love and compassion to escape out of the briefcase, but it make for a more interesting picture. Rest assured all that goodwill does get where it’s supposed to go!
